Dr. So, a Chartered Surveyor since 1974 is a thoroughly experienced professional with over 50 years of experience in the industry. He joined the Hong Kong Government in 1968 and became an Estate Surveyor of the then Crown Lands & Survey Office in 1975. After 26 years of service in the Hong Kong Government, holding positions such as District Land Officer of various urban and New Territories districts and being appointed as Government Land Agent several times, Dr So left Government service and established Albert So Surveyors Limited in 1995.

As the Managing Director of Albert So Surveyors Limited, he has handled a number of major development projects and has provided successful service to companies of all sizes in the valuation, project management, land administration, planning and development fields. 

 

He is a Past Chairman of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, RICS Hong Kong, Past President of Hong Kong Institute of Real Estate Administrators and the Hong Kong Institute of Housing.  He is also a Past Hon. Treasurer and Hon. Secretary of The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and Past Vice-Chairman of Housing Managers Registration Board, Past Chairman of RICS/HKIS GP Division and past Chairman of Valuation Committee RICS(HK).

Dr. So has held public appointments as a member of various boards and public bodies including:-

• Buildings Department

• Education and Manpower Bureau

• Hong Kong Housing Authority

• Housing Managers Registration Board

• Municipal Services Appeals Board

• The Community Chest

Currently, Dr. So is a member of the Appeal Tribunal Panel of Planning and Lands Branch and a consultant of Heung Yee Kuk.
